Our buddies Carlo Rossi & Cazadores...
I was "asleep" by the time the rest of our buddies arrived. I did use the bathroom in the middle of the night, and was absolutely amazed by the amount of stars in the sky. It was seriously breathtaking ... I remember it so clearly even without a picture. The next day, after a rough morning, we were ready to hit the coastline. Now I really love tide pools, and it had been a really long time since I had been to one. The last time was probably pre-college. The coastline here a close drive/hike from the campsite was rocky and filled with tide pools. I was so excited, especially since it was so unexpected. We hiked through a field and climbed over lots of rocks before finally finding the perfect spot. It really was quite perfect. It was a bunch of rock formations right behind is, and a sea kelp forest dominating large tide pool areas filled with starfish, crab, bright green anenomes, along with mussels and other barnacle looking types. You could get pretty good looks at most of the things too! The weather wasn't too bad either... definitely windy which made it colder, and a little overcast but definitely filled with UV-rays. I had a great time out there, I love being next to the water and the tidepools were cool.
Andy and the tide pools.
Here's a couple of other shots from the coast...(1) a little crab hiding out in the cracks, (2) rock formation that totally looks like a cow, (3) orange star fish and green anenome, (4) shot of derek fishing, (5) fields & cove shot, and (6)
